Photographic Abstractions

Motivated by the geometric and textural vibrancy of the constructed environment, my work reinterprets these details. Through my camera lens I see patterns, materials, connections, and color. In post-production I reorganize, recompose, and refocus imagery of architecture into new architectural abstractions. As Pablo Picasso said “There is no abstract art. You must always start with something. Afterward you can remove all traces of reality.” These new scenes provide a recollection of an urban familiarity yet spatially present a new reality.
